In this work, René Turrek fuses classical art history with modern pop culture and provocative street-art aesthetics. The world-famous Mona Lisa is transformed through bright pink graffiti reminiscent of urban wall art. The phrase “Bitch Betta Have My Money”—a reference to self-determination, power, and the value of artistic labor—deliberately breaks with the reverence for the original. In doing so, Turrek creates a charged dialogue between high culture and contemporary expression, between Renaissance icon and modern rebellion.
